The Story
***Chart Only***
Note from the designer: "The late 1800âs sampler was found in an online auction. It is unmarked, undated, missing a lot of stitches, and has an odd color scheme. I found it irresistible regardless, as I am rather fond of samplers with a jumble of motifs squished together. I placed it on my mantle for a few months, and found myself looking at it often, thinking it looked Christmas-y, despite its clashing lavender, circus red, and chartreuse threads, and that empty cartouche was just begging me to fill it. And so I reworked the colors, filled in missing stitches as I saw fit, and placed the word âNoelâ and the year onto it. I had another antique sampler with an alphabet very similar to the single letter âNâ at the top, so I dusted it off to include with the chart. If âNoelâ isnât your Christmas word, please feel free to change it out for another. I had just enough room on the alphabet page to chart the word âPeaceâ, but others such as âJoyâ or âHarkâ would work as well. "
Model stitched with one thread over two.
Stitch Count: 155 x 129
